About Beau Dermott

Known for her powerful, soaring voice and renditions of songs from popular stage musicals, Beau Dermott is an English singer from Cheshire, England. Growing up, she developed a strong interest in the work of Julie Andrews and began singing her favorite songs from timeless stage productions as a frequent hobby. She became widely known after her arresting performance of "Defying Gravity" (from the musical Wicked) on the 2016 series of Britain’s Got Talent. Having floored the judging panel, the performance earned Dermott entry to the semi-finals. She went on to finish in fifth place; however, success continued for the vocalist, resulting in a deal with Decca Records; she was also chosen by Dame Vera Lynn to open her 100th birthday celebration concert at the London Palladium in 2017. Dermott's debut album, Brave, was released later that year and featured her version of "Defying Gravity," as well as the original title track. ~ Rob Wacey
