About Amanda Whiting

Amanda Whiting is a U.K.-based jazz harpist, composer, and educator. She is a member of jazz trumpeter Matthew Halsall's Gondwana Orchestra and has long been an active part of the U.K.'s jazz and pop scenes, backing popular artists like Jamie Cullum and Dannii Minogue live, and collaborating with DJ Yoda, Rebecca Vasmant, Jazzanova, Greg Foat, Heliocentrics, and others in the studio. Before signing with Jazzman in late 2019, she self-released three albums: 2007's quartet offering Something Borrowed... Something New... 2013's solo Butterflies, and 2015's Memories. Her Jazzman debut, Little Sunflower, comprised a trio covering standards. 2021's After Dark again showcased a trio and added Chip Wickham as guest soloist. 2022's Lost in Abstraction won global acclaim. In 2023 she collaborated with Cardiff-based DJ Don Leisure on Beyond the Midnight Sun and released The Liminality of Her, her First Word leader debut, in 2024.
