Editors' Notes SWIDT goes hard on their debut, maintaining elevated levels of power and aggression. They put it down for their Onehunga suburb on “Alfred & Church.” One doesn’t need to know pro-wrestling minutiae to understand their ambitions raised on “Ric Flair.” Then you have “Player of the Day,” a legit locker-room anthem, which could be the Kiwi answer to M.O.P.’s “Ante Up.” And despite the overflowing adrenaline, SWIDT take informed forays into reggae (“Kelz Garage”) and jazz (“Mine”), and even pull off an emotional tribute to fallen heroes on “Before Tears Dry.” At one point, so overcome, a verse is left half-finished, dangling in the ether.
