“My journey as a musician has really shaped my mix,” DJ Lora tells Apple Music. The South African DJ and producer’s blend of cosmopolitan house music for Platoon Presents: Selecta nods to her well-travelled history, weaving together vibrant beats from all corners and cultures of the world. “I wanted to bring in elements from my African roots. My father was a musician and was into Latin music, so I have included that as well as old-school house music,” Lora says. “I want to champion up-and-coming artists—music no one has ever heard of. I want to ultimately give the underdog a chance to be heard.”
