“This set is entirely made up of tracks taken from a singular playlist on my phone,” Ben Böhmer tells Apple Music. “I needed a selection of go-to music to help me through tough moments on the road when I’d be waking up and travelling to the airport on only a couple of hours’ sleep.” Artfully strung together into an exclusive Early Hours DJ Mix, the Berlin-based composer and producer’s selections can serve a dual purpose: “I’d like to think this [mix] would help you unwind as you make your way home from a club, but it could also provide you with some much-needed energy to start your day,” he says. Among his favourite tracks are Jon Hopkins’ “Immunity”, a gorgeous instrumental that Böhmer says has helped him through “many ups and downs”, and “The Color of Nothing” by fast-rising DJ/producer ford.. “I love everything ford. does,” Böhmer says. “His balance between electronic and acoustic sounds is wonderful and his piano riffs are, to me, timeless.”
