Chasin' Me - EP

Chasin' Me - EP

There is a refreshing sense of freedom around Caroline Jones that shines through in Chasin’ Me. The Nashville-based artist is the daughter of an Australian-born mother and American father who flirted with other genres before she visited Nashville in her late teens, when she made the switch to country; she has been making a name for herself ever since with her pop-country style. The EP, which follows five albums released since 2011, was co-produced by Jones and Grammy- and Academy Award-winning producer Ric Wake (Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston), and was entirely written solo, save for final track “Gulf Coast Girl”, by Jimmy Buffett and Mac McAnally, and “All of the Boys”, co-written with Zac Brown. The results are a mix of innocence and cheekiness—particularly apparent in the title track, as well as “All of the Boys” and “Tough Guys”, a rocked-up, sassier new version of the track that first appeared on her 2018 album Bare Feet. And while “God Made Me” may sound like it has religious undertones, it takes one listen to know it’s a love song sung by a woman who knows exactly what she wants.
