The first single of Tee Grizzley’s career, the continually ascending “First Day Out”, earned him a Twitter shout-out from JAY Z. On only his second full-length release, the Detroit rapper continues collecting co-signs, now in the form of guest appearances. Activated’s “2 Vaults” finds Grizzley and Lil Yachty recreating the aggro magic the pair found on “From the D to the A”. Peers like Moneybagg Yo and YFN Lucci add regional flair (Memphis and Atlanta, respectively), but the album’s second of two Chris Brown collabs, the Helluva-produced “Fuck It Off”, pushes the world’s foremost R&B lothario into imposing street-rap posturing, approaching an energy akin to that of “First Day Out”.
