EDITORS’ NOTES

After a 15-year absence, the Midnight Oil frontman returns with an inspired solo LP. A Version of Now is a wonderfully direct set of bony, no-frills rock that finds Garrett reflecting on then and now with moving honesty—and help from Oils guitarist Martin Rotsey. “There’s no place on Earth I need to see,” he sings on “No Placebo.” “I’m at ease with my mortality.”

The Power But Not The Passion

It's great to see you back on the music scene. I listened to your album but there just seems to be something missing that was there with your Oils music. Overall the songs are good but would be great if there was more passion behind it.

Pete's been busy.

As a life long Midnight Oil fan I have waited far too many years for a proper reunion. Now that Peter Garrett has released a solo and a promise of an Oils 2017 tour I am a happy man again.
This sounds like the Oils of old - the good old days of pure, unadulterated Aussie music. Great music we all grew up too. I've had the absolute pleasure seeing the Oils live in concert an remarkable 13 times - but am so looking forward to number 14...!!!
Welcome back, welcome home.

It still matters

The first time I saw the music video of it still matters on rage changed my perception of Peter garrett in such a positive way, that all I could think was this man would never of succeeded in modern politics because he has a soul with a conscience. The music video is a must see. The young school boys look at the end of the video says it all about where indifference begins and it really makes you reflect internally, which is so powerful in creating positive peaceful change! Thumbs up to all involved. Keep it coming
