Lalo Schifrin Essentials

Lalo Schifrin Essentials

This Argentine composer took to the sound of midcentury America with such fervour, he managed to score some of vintage Hollywood's most iconic films. Schifrin's style—which often pairs swinging rhythms with bold, brassy fanfares—graced the original Mission: Impossible as well as Mannix. But he was also capable of more brooding soundtracks with strings and synths (as heard on themes for Enter the Dragon and Dirty Harry). Hear a vibrant collection of his compositions in this mix, which also includes a touch of his jazz work with the likes of organist Jimmy Smith.
