Cheap Trick Essentials

Cheap Trick Essentials

Few songwriters in rock history could craft a tune like Cheap Trick guitarist Rick Nielsen; fewer singers had a voice as gutsy as frontman Robin Zander's, and no rock rhythm section could swing like drummer Bun E. Carlos and bassist Tom Petersson. Formed in Rockford, Illinois, in 1973, the strangely underrated Cheap Trick pulled from groups like The Move and The Who to create a smart, hugely influential brand of power-pop. Their 1979 album Cheap Trick at Budokan made them famous, and since then, their career has had more ups and downs than a yo-yo, but the albums stayed strong, and they still tour constantly.
