Much like the physical contrast between pretty-boy singer Robin Zander and freak-geek guitarist Rick Nielsen, early Cheap Trick tracks ping-ponged between arm-swaying power-pop anthems like “Takin' Me Back” and sleazy, howling rave-ups like “The Ballad of TV Violence (I'm Not the Only Boy)”. And while the '80s yielded sleek ballads such as “Ghost Town”, 2009's “Sick Man of Europe” shows that Cheap Trick never lost their flair for deranged rock 'n' roll.
