About Mando

Mando is a pop singer, songwriter, dancer, and musician considered one of Mexico’s hottest younger artists. His sound walks the line between Latin dance pop, cumbia, rock, and contemporary R&B. He was born in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico in 1996 and began singing, guitar, piano, and drum lessons at age 11. He also began entering local and national talent competitions including Ipop, where he was discovered, and recorded his debut album in Los Angeles while still in high school. Produced by Mauricio Garza (Zoé, Jesse y Joy), it was recorded during four school vacation breaks. The full-length Este Momento was self-released in February 2014, preceded by the title track single and "Quiero Estar Contigo," which reached number twenty and number seven at radio, respectively. His third single, "No Temas Corazón," remained in the radio Top Ten for weeks. Mando played promotional shows in support but signed to Socesa Seitrack and re-entered the studio in early 2015. His single "Suéltate" was issued in July and placed well inside the radio Top 20, and on the digital charts. A second single, "Decirle Adiós," buoyed by its video, placed even higher. Mando joined the Fenix Tour at El Zocalo in Mexico City and performed alongside Nicky Jam, Wisin, Juan Magan, and Gente de Zona. His third pre-release single, "Pot Tu Amor," was issued in early August and placed not only at radio and digital, but also on the streaming charts. His sophomore album, Ven Bailala, added more cumbia to his pop mix and was released in September 2016. ~ Thom Jurek
