About I.D.Y.

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. When I was a child in Dominican Republic, latin urban music was dominated by Puerto Rican Reggaeton artists. Then I remember one day I heard a rap song with Dominican slang, and a very interesting timbre. Lapiz Conciente made me want to make music. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Frank Reyes, Cuando Se Quiere Se Puede I.D.Y., Camaleón Kendrick Lamar, DAMN. Cuando Se Quiere Se Puede was playing everywhere when I moved to Dominican Republic -the place I discovered I wanted to be an artist. DAMN came out while I was deployed. The structure and quality of it inspired me to make my own album -Camaleón. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Freestyle 2k16” Although I'd made many songs by the time I released this one, this is the one that solidified me as an artist to my Dominican peers in my hometown due to its punchlines and metaphors. Also, it was the first song I did a music video to. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One of the most memorable moments in my career was releasing my album Camaleón. When I saw the very detailed and positive feedback I got for a project that I had spent so much time working on, I felt valued and proud of my creativity and discipline. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? There are many things left on my bucket list. I won't list them here, because when I'm done with that list, I am creating another one right after. There'll always be room for improvement.
