Ed Sheeran hat Apple Music ein exklusives Statement zu seinem neuen Projekt gegeben, das wir hier auf deutsch wiedergeben: „Dieses Album greift die Idee meiner 2010 aufgenommenen EP ‚No.5 Collaborations Project‘ auf, bei dem bereits viele Acts mitgewirkt haben, die mir gefallen. Auf meinem Laptop hatte ich einen Ordner namens ‚No.6 Collaborations Project‘, also rief ich bei ein paar Leuten an, mit denen ich dieses neue Projekt umsetzen wollte. Ich glaube, ich kam zuerst mit Camila in Kontakt – ab dem Zeitpunkt kam der Stein ins Rollen. Ich richtete mir in Nashville ein Studio ein und begann, an Songs zu arbeiten. Immer wenn ein Act in die Stadt kam, habe ich gefragt, ob er oder sie nicht Lust hätte, bei mir vorbeizukommen. Wir produzierten Songs und nach ungefähr drei Monaten war das Album im Kasten – und das alles mit einer Menge Leute, die ich wirklich schätze. In einigen Fällen habe ich meine Komfortzone verlassen. Das hat unglaublichen Spaß gemacht und ich hoffe, es gefällt euch.“ – Ed Hier nochmal Eds Statement im englischen Original: This record was based on one I made in 2010 called No.5 Collaborations Project with a load of artists I liked. I had a little folder on my laptop called No.6 Collaborations Project, so I started ringing up people who I wanted to work with. I think the first was Camila, and then it sort of opened up from there. I based myself in Nashville, set up a studio there and started making songs, so whenever an artist passed through Nashville I would hit them up and they would come to the house. We’d make a song, and the record was made over the course of three months, with lots of people I like. I really stepped out of my comfort zone on some stuff.
