Five years after forming in Rio de Janeiro in 1999, Ponto de Equilíbrio made their breakthrough with debut album Reggae a Vida Com Amor and its socially conscious lyrics that came enveloped by roots reggae and dub. Later albums brought poignant anti-war anthems such as “O Que Eu Vejo” next to sunny collabs with Jamaican veterans like The Congos, plus indigenous samba tinges, classic Bob Marley covers and rap monologues from guests including Gabriel o Pensador. Elsewhere, the string-laden ballad “Estar Com Você” features axé diva Ivete Sangalo.
