Cursive and The Good Life frontman Tim Kasher is an indie-rock cottage industry—a sharp, relentlessly self-examining songwriter who’s been working at an album-a-year clip since the mid-‘90s. The companion piece to a movie about a failing engagement (written and directed, of course, by Kasher), No Resolution explores the underbelly of relationships with wit, heart and a touch of acidity, like chamber pop as penned by a Midwestern Elvis Costello. Rarely does anxiety sound so rich, or have so many violins.
