Rowwen Hèze Essentials

Starting out in 1985, Dutch group Rowwen Hèze immediately made a name for themselves with their cornucopia of influences. Folk, rock, brass-band sounds and ska fuse into an infectious and upbeat mix—which is no surprise given that they hail from the small village of America in the Limburg province of the Netherlands. With lyrics that showcase the versatility of their South Guelderish dialect, the band's 2006 release Rodus & Lucius flew straight to the top of the Netherlands album charts and cemented their status as national musical heroes.
