Extremoduro are aptly named. Roughly translating to “extremely tough”, the Spain hard rock band have built a career out of their forthright and heavy style since the late ‘80s, spicing it with elements of metal. Charging, Black Sabbath-esque riffs and thunderous drum rolls anchor their sound, but they also have a softer side that draws from blues, folk, prog and symphonic rock. Frontman Roberto Iniesta is defiance personified, and his lyrics, performed with signature rawness, challenge social norms in religion, politics and sexuality. These harbingers of hard rock definitely have a message.
