Underground Sound Suicide Loco Dice
EDITORS’ NOTES
Germany's Loco Dice regularly DJs some of techno's most hedonistic clubs, but on his second album, he steps away from peak time and slinks into the shadows. "Leavin' Brooklyn" and "You Shine" turn tech-house grooves into melancholy mood pieces, while "Metaphors" folds Neneh Cherry into bumping electro-soul and "Burn Ca$h Ash" takes aim at superstar DJs (with some help from the typically acerbic Miss Kittin). It's not all so chill, though: "Sending This One Out" is an acid-soaked rave throwback, and "Keep It Low" seethes over jacking drum machines and growling bass.
