The members of The Farm Hands already had a lifetime of experience as country veterans when they originally formed, and on Colors, they continue to show the fruits of that labor. Blending bluegrass and gospel, The Farm Hands display a number of shades to their sound, including minor-key train stories (“The Old 109”), twangy patriotic ballads (the title track), and even a cover of Gram Parsons’ “Sin City,” picking away at their instruments like the craftsmen that they are.
