Elegant Complexity!

I have followed Peter Horvath's music for nearly two decades. His latest album, "Absolute Reality" is a rich and elegant blend of rhythmic and harmonic complexity with especially beautiful and intricate solos on "Foreign Matter" and "Braden" (for his son). Straight-ahead, jazz lovers should find this album satisfying as well.

Way overdue

I live in the SF Bay Area and have been digging Peter's playing for years. I remember when he and his trio used to kill it over at Ana Mandara's most every weekend. He's one of those rare musicians who have great technique, sophisticated ideas and can still groove with the best of them. All of those talents are shown off here. It's about time more of the world gets to see what he has to offer. This has got killer playing by Peter and a stellar cast of musicians putting down the deep groove. Check it out!!

Absolute Mastery!

Peter Horvath and his fine aggregation of musicians ( Victor Bailey, Ray Obiedo, Bob Mintzer and Randy Brecker to name a few) exhibit nothing short of brilliance in this latest offering. Inspired compositions performed by truly outstanding players make this album a must-have for fans of Jazz. Peter's unique playing style blends traditional straight-ahead, R&B, gospel and the best of 70's fusion with a deeply soulful approach and dizzying technical deftness. A superlative recording- funky as hell, playful, thought-provoking and soul-stirring. Do yourself a favor: buy this record and make it a part of your reality.
