The Allman Brothers Band: Influences

The Allman Brothers Band's mixture of blues and rock ‘n' roll helped define '70s Southern rock, but their hard-chooglin' update of traditional music owed just as much to '60s British bands like The Yardbirds and Cream as it did to Chicago blues originators like Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf. Their straightforward grooves even drew inspiration from trailblazing '50s rockers like Chuck Berry.
