Before Kodaline, this Irish four-piece were 21 Demands, and came runner-up in TV talent show You're a Star in 2006, scoring the first independently released track to top the country's singles chart in 2007. Five years later, they regrouped as Kodaline, and their early EPs anointed them as heirs to the anthemic folk-rock throne previously helmed by Arcade Fire and Coldplay.
