Dean Martin: Deep Cuts

Dean Martin: Deep Cuts

Some of Dean Martin's best records came at the beginning and end of his career. "I Take a Lot of Pride In What I Am”, for instance, is a standout from his later country years, the singer coolly warbling Merle Haggard's lyrics about the "hobo jungle". On the early side, 1948's "That Certain Party" has Dean and his up-and-coming partner Jerry Lewis doing vaudeville comedy routines over swing horns.
