First collaborating as part of the touring band for The Beach Boys, husband and wife Daryl Dragon and Toni Tennille eventually decided to break off as a recording duo of their own. As Captain & Tennille, they become one of the most successful soft rock acts of their era. With her shiny bob and his fisherman's hat, the pair were cultural icons in the US from '75-'79, hosting their own TV variety show, charting six Top Five singles and winning '75's Record of the Year GRAMMY®. Sporadically active after '80, Tennille filed for divorce from the Captain after 39 years of marriage in '14.
