AHI: Influences

Canadian singer/songwriter AHI learned to sculpt an easy, natural sound for his roots tunes from the best. He inherited his sense of groove from tunes like Bob Marley’s reggae jam “Kaya”, and found a blueprint for moody atmospheres by listening to the sweeping strings of Bill Withers’ “Ain’t No Sunshine”. And the flow and intimacy of Tracy Chapman’s delivery on her classic “Fast Car” taught him how to make things feel real through the power of voice.
