About Nathan

Along with Jay Sean, Taio Cruz, and McLean, singer Nathan is part of the new wave of British R&B artists that are making an impact both at home and in the U.S. Born Nathan Abraham Fagan- Gayle in South London in 1986, he is the son of reggae singer Lorna Gee. At the age of two, he and his mother moved to Jamaica while she pursued her singing career. Three years later, they moved to New York, but returned to England in 1997, where Nathan, influenced by Usher and Michael Jackson, began performing at his mother's shows. After he won a talent contest organized by Choice FM, he signed a deal with V2 Records and released his debut single, "Come into My Room," which reached number 37. His first album, Masterpiece, was released a year later and led to nominations at both the Urban Music Awards and MOBOs. In 2008, he became a housemate on reality TV show Big Brother: Celebrity Hijack, where he finished sixth. A year later, he moved to Atlanta to record material with Angela Hunte (Britney Spears) and Frankie Storm (Rihanna). The first single from his as yet untitled second album, "Caught Me Slippin'," featuring Flo Rida, was released in 2010. ~ Jon O'Brien
