About Music Within

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I have fond memories of being a young kid, singing in the car with my family. My dad, mom, sister, and I would be driving together and someone would sing a line like: "We're on the roaaaad!" We'd all echo it back and add harmonies. Lots of laughs. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? John Denver, John Denver's Greatest Hits Jóhann Jóhannsson, Orphée Rise Against, Appeal to Reason This is a very tough question. These are a few of the albums that have left a lasting impression on me. John Denver: my family always listened to him during our camping trips. Rise Against: love singing along to them. Jóhann Jóhannsson: beautiful! Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Crossing Vast Oceans” I’ve always been very proud of this piece (and the entire EP it’s a part of). The way the music builds and builds still moves me to this day. There's a beautiful music video for this track too, showing a family of whales swimming through the ocean. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I also play guitar in a metal band called Centuries of Decay. In 2018, we had the opportunity to play in Germany at the Wacken Open Air festival. We were like "team Canada" in a global battle of the bands. There was a huge crowd. It was amazing! Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Lots of things left on my musical bucket list: perform on the stage of Toronto's Massey Hall (I used to work there as an usher), get my music synced in major motion pictures, have a track with 100M streams, record with a live orchestra, and more.
