About Eric Benét
Singer-songwriter Eric Benét broke out in the late ’90s with chart-topping, Grammy-nominated R&B singles like “Spend My Life With You”. • Beginning in the late ’80s, he sang in the vocal group Benét with sister Lisa and cousin George Nash, Jr. They released an album in 1992. • Benét’s 1996 debut album, True to Myself, generated a handful of minor R&B hits. • His true breakthrough came with his platinum-selling 1999 sophomore album, A Day in the Life, which includes the hit “Spend My Life With You”, featuring Tamia. The single topped the R&B chart and crossed over to No. 21 on the Hot 100. It also earned a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals. • The next decade saw not only more music from Benét, but also forays into acting. His credits include the 2001 Mariah Carey film Glitter and the WB series For Your Love. • His fourth album, 2008’s Love & Life, earned two Grammy nominations (Best R&B Album and Best Male R&B Vocal Performance) and peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard 200, a career high for Benét.
