About Edson & Hudson

Huelinton Cadorini Silva (born August 23, 1974) and brother Udson Cadorini Silva (born August 16, 1972) commonly known by their stage name Edson & Hudson, are two of the foremost sertaneja protagonists of their generation. Originating from an artistic family who traveled as circus performers while the brothers were young, the Edson & Hudson's musical pursuits were encouraged from an early age. The boy's father Beijinho heard them singing in the backyard as children and decided to encourage their talent. The brothers were soon performing in village squares, bars, and dancehalls to enthusiastic audiences. Performing sertaneja, a Brazilian country music style (taking its name from Sertao, or "back country") the duo made their recording debut in 1995 with their self-titled release Edson & Hudson. Their first production selling 45,000 with subsequent projects achieving steadily higher sales, Edson & Hudson quickly became the genre's most notable duo. In 2002, they released Acustico (Ao Vivo) which topped 180,000 units and generated hits that permeated Brazilian radio. The brother's recording career continued to flourish, landing a substantive deal with EMI Brazil in 2005 for the release of Galera Coracao, soon followed by a live CD and DVD of the same name. A niche the sertaneja market may be, but the brothers' recording career continued to gain steam through 2006 and 2007 with albums such as Duas Vidas Dois Amores and Na Moda do Brasil. ~ Evan C.
