About Dread Mar I

Argentinian reggae singer Dread Mar I launched his career by providing vocals for DreadGon’s 2004 single “Mi Amor” and Mensajeros Reggae’s 2005 album, Luz. ∙ Jah Guía, his 2006 solo debut, featured the song “Inspiración,” which was used prominently in the action-sports TV show Gravedad Zero. ∙ In 2011, Dread Mar I won the Premios Quiero category Best Reggae Video for “Más Allá de Tus Ojos (En Vivo).” ∙ He won Best Reggae and Urban Music Album for 2012’s Transparente at Argentina’s Premios Gardel awards ceremony. ∙ To celebrate his 10th anniversary as a solo artist, he recorded the live album 10 Años (En Vivo) at the Planetario de Buenos Aires, drawing more than 14,000 people. ∙ Dread Mar I recorded 2018’s Caminarás Caminos at Jamaica’s Anchor and Sunpower studios, where he collaborated with reggae musicians Kirk Bennett and Carol Bowie McLaughlin.
